Princess Sock Hop and Turkey Shoot!

The Sock Hop was a great time! The girls all danced until their feet hurt. Elvis made an appearance and sang quite a few songs. The girls also played games. We finished the night off by going to Braums and having ice cream. We took quite a few pictures at the dance. View them at this link: http://www2.snapfish.com/thumbnailshare/AlbumID=250423083/a=109589261_109589261/t_=109589261

We also had a great time at the Turkey shoot. Madison and I probably will need to work on our shooting. You can view the photos here: http://www2.snapfish.com/thumbnailshare/AlbumID=250423950/a=109589261_109589261/t_=109589261

2008 FALL PRINCESS CAMPOUT!

What a great campout! The girls had a wonderful time. Friday night they participated in a costume fashion show. Saturday they spent time fishing, riding bikes, carving pumpkins. Curtis handed out patches. Madison earned the Sparrow patch. Kudos to Madison! Saturday night we all had a wonderful dinner that Tommy made in his smoker. We attended the bonfire. After, we were all treated to cobbler that was topped with homemade strawberry ice cream that Curtis perfected. We ate it while we watched the movie "Flushed Away". Sunday morning we had our devotional and then headed home.

Remember that our next tribe meeting is on October 26 at 5pm. Location to be announced shortly.

October 5th Meeting

Everyone had a good time at the meeting on Sunday. Curtis had a lot of info to share. Here is a picture of Curtis cheerfully sharing the info:

The fall campout is this coming weekend (October 10th-12th). It is at Lake Fairfield State Park. Here is a link to the park's website: http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/spdest/findadest/parks/fairfield_lake/

It looks like we are going to have a great turnout for the campout. We plan on eating dinner as a tribe at around 7:30pm on Friday. Be sure and bring your girl's Halloween costume. The girls will be showing them off that night. Also, bring a pumpkin - we will be carving and decorating it on Saturday. Also, feel free to bring any decorations to make the campsite more festive. At the bonfire on Saturday, we are in charge of setting-up the caution tape and taking down the sound system.

The next meeting will be October 26th. More info will follow. There is a Father/Daughter Princess Dance on November 7th (50's theme) and the Turkey Shoot is on November 8th.

August 24th Meeting

The meeting on Sunday went well. Here is some information on what Curtis discussed with us:

Curtis reminded us that the Carnival is coming up this Saturday (August 30th). Our booth will be a karoake booth. The music will be played over the YMCA sound system. We have volunteers to set-up and run the booth but we still need volunteers for Saturday afternoon. This is our current sign-up schedule:

Friday night set-up: Curtis N. & Jeff O.
Saturday: 7-9am - Tommy B & Mike G.
9-10am - Allen S.
10-11am - Stewart W.
11-12 - Open Slot (need volunteers)
12-1 - Open Slot (need volunteers)
Clean Up - Open Slot (need volunteers)

Curtis also reminded us that the Induction will be on September 20th. We are war chiefing this event and more info will follow.

We have decided to have our meetings on the third Sunday of each month. The meeting in September will most likely be on the 2nd Sunday of the month, so that we can discuss the Induction. Thomas will be hosting the meeting in September and I (Mike) will be hosting the meeting in October. We still need volunteers to host meetings for the rest of the months.

We are hoping to have t-shirts made before the inductions. Curtis is accepting all design ideas.

Rocket Shoot

The Rocket Shoot was a great time. Check out the video. Sorry for some of the poor camera work and sorry for not getting everyone's rocket in the shots (we spent a lot of time chasing down Madison's rocket).
